2012 Olympic poster alternatives
by Perrin Drumm
As Blair mentioned on SUNfiltered yesterday, not all the 2012 Olympic poster designs are up to snuff. And if we’re being really real, a lot of them flat out suuuuck. Just click through and tell me if you honestly like more than three back-to-back. (That last one seriously looks like it should be embroidered on a dish towel and sold on Etsy.)
In response, designer Sarah Hyndman came up with some posters of her own. They may not be athletically inspiring, but at least they’re clever (all her designs mimic the interlocking Olympic rings with everyday objects like spray paint cans, booze and snack food) and they make me smile, which is a helluva lot more than I can say for the aforementioned tea towel of a poster. See more at Sarah’s Olympic Logo a Day blog.

Word! So glad I’m not alone on this. You’d sort of think, “inspiring global artists + inspiring global event” couldn’t miss, but most of them are just bunk.
